The sprocket material should ensure that the gear teeth have sufficient strength and wear resistance, so the tooth surfaces of the sprockets are generally heat treated to achieve a certain hardness.
The tightness of the sprocket should be appropriate. If it is too tight, it will increase power consumption and the bearing is easy to wear; if it is too loose, the sprocket is easy to jump and off the chain. The tightness of the sprocket is: lifted or pressed from the middle of the sprocket, about 2% -3% of the center distance between the two sprockets. The sprocket should be mounted on the shaft without swinging and skew. In the same transmission assembly, the end faces of the two sprockets should be in the same plane. When the center distance of the sprocket is below 0.5 meters, it can deviate by 1 mm; when the center distance of the sprocket is above 0.5 meters, it can deviate by 2 mm. However, there should be no side phenomenon of friction sprocket teeth. If the two wheels are deviated too much, it is easy to produce off-chain and accelerated wear. When replacing the sprocket, care must be taken to check and adjust the offset.
After the sprocket is seriously worn, the new sprocket and the new sprocket should be replaced at the same time to ensure good meshing. The new sprocket or new sprocket cannot be replaced alone. Otherwise, it will cause poor meshing and accelerate the wear of the new sprocket or new sprocket. After the sprocket tooth surface wears to a certain degree, it should be turned over in time to extend the use time. The new sprocket is too long or elongated after use, it is difficult to adjust, you can remove the link according to the situation, but it must be an even number. The chain link should pass through the back of the sprocket, the locking piece should be inserted outside, and the opening of the locking piece should be in the opposite direction of rotation.
The sprocket should be filled with lubricant in time. Lubricating oil must enter the matching gap between the roller and the inner sleeve to improve working conditions and reduce wear. The old sprocket cannot be mixed with part of the new sprocket, otherwise it will easily cause impact in the transmission and pull off the sprocket. When the machine is stored for a long time, the sprocket should be removed and cleaned with kerosene or diesel, then coated with engine oil or butter and stored in a dry place.
