Silent chain is mainly composed of inner and outer plates, rollers, pins and sleeves. The inner and outer plates are the main load-bearing parts of the chain, the rollers and pins play the role of transmitting power, and the sleeves play the role of shock absorption and noise reduction. The structure of the silent chain is compact, and the matching accuracy between the various components is high to ensure the normal operation of the chain. Compared with roller chains, it has smooth meshing, small impact, and greatly reduces noise during operation, making it very suitable for applications with high noise control requirements. Due to the precise meshing of toothed chain plates with sprocket teeth, there is less slippage and the efficiency is usually above 98%, which is higher than ordinary chain transmission. The structure is stable and can transmit large torque and power at the same time, suitable for high load conditions. The multi-chain plate design has more meshing points, good transmission balance, small vibration, and is suitable for high-speed operation. Using high-strength alloy steel and heat treatment process, the chain plates have good wear resistance and longer life than ordinary chains.
